What's going on?

I am not sure exactly what's going on but PayPerPost is paying me $5.00 to put this image>>>>> on my blog. There is some sort of big news that PayPerPost will be annoucing tomorrow. First person to figure out the puzzle will win $1000. I sure would like to win $1000 but I don't usually win anything. PayPerPost I want to know what's going on! I guess I will just have to wait one more day to find out the big news.
They said I have to add this phrase to my post >>> payperpostbignews <<< but I am not sure if they meant >>> payperpost big news <<< so I am including it just in case.

I am working on some new blogs

I have been working hard on some new blogs and I am really excited about it. I really like Blogger but I think it's time for me to upgrade. I will be using Word Press on my own host so I can pretty much do what ever I want. I was successful figuring out how to upload my images so I am really happy about that. When you are hosting your own blog or website there are always things that have to be figured out. So stay tunned for the new blogs.

Dirty Pillows?

Has it ever crossed you mind that your pillow could be giving you pimples?
According to the book "Six Weeks to Sensational Skin" Tip #1 you should have clean pillows.

Tip 1: Make sure your pillow case is at least 400 thread count, and clean it with an detergent that gets rid of dust mites and other bacteria on your pillow. A pillow is like an 8-hour facial-- make sure you have the right one!

Dr. Loretta offers a Beauty Camp for those of you would want better skin. According to Dr. Loretta you don't need to purchase pricey creams to get younger looking skin. Some of here other tips include taking orientation photos of your face paying close attention to the problem areas. She recommends you continue to take pictures through out your six week "boot camp".
Click here for the article from ABC.com. You can also watch a video. I am not sure what the video is about because I was having trouble with my version of Media Player. So check out the video and tell me what it was about. I think it might be an interview. Check out what she has to say.

My attempt at Affiliate Marketing

So far my attempt at affiliate marketing has not gone too well. I have only created a site for my family and friends to shop. My monasmall.com website was not really designed to bring in lots of traffic, although that would be great. Affiliate Marketing is one of the greats ways of potential income on the net. The trick is getting people to shop on your site. I was introduced to a great site that has a great view of what affiliate marketing should be:

Affiliate Marketing is a business. It's not about people making $5 a month from sending clicks to a Merchant's site, and it's definitely not about free branding. It is about professionally powered websites making serious sales and serious commissions. It's about work-at-home professionals who do Affiliate Marketing for a living.

I hope that my monasmall.com can be a "professionally powered websites making serious sales and serious commissions" one day. Check out this website for more info on affiliate marketing. I leave you with this websites self descripition:

AMWSO is your gateway to both Affiliate Partners and Merchant Affiliate Programs. AMWSO is a third party Affiliate Marketing and Affiliate Program Management company that brings together the needs of affiliates and merchants. We do this by following well laid down ethical affiliate marketing practices, and our success is illustrated by a track record that speaks for itself. Please explore our site to learn more, and then please drop us an email with any questions you may have.

The Mustang

Normally if I said the word "Mustang" I would be talking about the wild Spanish descendant horse native the US, but today I am actually taking about the car. The Mustang is actually one of my favorite automobiles. I am not for sure if that's because of it's name (such a girl thing to say, I know) or the fact the it always sounds like the biggest and fastest car ever made. You can actually feel the engine vibrate on the ground. This car just oozes with speed and power. If you happen to be a huge fan of Mustangs than you ought to check out this website called moddedmustangs.com. This site has some very cool cars. Find out more about The Ultimate Mustang Performance Modding Community.

YouTube

Just used YouTube for the very first time today. I didn't know how it was going to go because I have such slow internet connect. I did have some trouble at first but it ended up being a success. I am so happy. I love it when things go well. Yippy! Oh, if you want to check out my YouTube video you will have to go to my other blog >Mona's Blog

Give a boy a stick and a rope and he will be happy forever

My son is one of those kids that is obsessed with sticks and ropes. He will play with a good stick for hours. Pretending it's a gun, a sword, a rocket or what ever else he can imagine. Or if you give him a rope he will tie everthing to it. He will tie chairs together, sticks together, his door to anything he can find in his room. So I say all this to say my son would love this website called Netknots.com. This website has the best knot illustrations and I think if I showed him this site he would spend hours trying to perfect his knots. I suppose all boys need to know how to tie a good knot. This site has all kinds of knots. They categorize them this way:
Fishing Knots
Outdoor Knots
Boating Knots
Paddling Knots

I think I will have to show this site to my son. He will probably love me for it. By the way adults will find this site useful too :o).

What's up with Blogger today

For some reason I can't upload pictures. I really want to show some photos. I hope they fix this by tomorrow. I guess I could upload them to my web host. Too much work. I will come back tomorrow and post some pics of the new site I am working on.

Photography at it's best

There are some people that are gifted photographers. They can see something that no one else would view as beautiful and make it beautiful. A gift photographer has the ability change the way others see things. They can take a piece of life and make it last forever, giving generations upon generations the chance see they way the world was. Not just the way the world was but the way people felt about it. A photograph taken right will have feeling and emotion. Feelings and emotion are not always found in people but also in the earth, the sky, a flower or an animal. A photographer that can create this type of picture is gifted.
Wil Fernandez in my opinion is a gifted photographer. His photographs are awesome. My favorite photograph is of a Llama at Machu Picchu, Peru. Check out his work! Wil Fernandez Photography

Cash Advances

The main reason why people opt to get cash advances is because they can't handle their money properly and spend more money then they make. I may be making some people a little irradiated with me by saying this but it is true. This may of course not be a truth for all users of this type of service but I think in our society today we are all basically over spenders. And since no one ever really listens to me I will leave you with a link to go on your way to debt, despair and weeping and nashing of teeth. Ok, maybe that's a little over board. >>>>> Instant Payday Loan Online

Gimp 2.2

I found this program on download.com. It's one of those great free downloads I love so much. The reviewers gave this software very good reviews. It was compared it to Photoshop. I don't have photoshop so I can't say that I agree or disagree. I did hope it would be easier to figure out though. I will just do what I usually do and "trial and error" my way through this because I am too lazy to read the directions. I will figure it out. I usually do.

Debt is BAD!

If you can relate to this statement:
One couple’s modern odyssey to obtain a net worth of $0
Then you need to check out the We're In Debt Blog. The about section of the blog says this:
We’re In Debt is a blog written by the King and Queen of debt as they struggle to learn about their finances. Follow along as they struggle to payoff their debt and learn to save money.

I can totally relate to what they have to say on this issue. These people seem to be discussing many of the principles I have been trying to express. They are finally paying off their debt. Something I hope to be able to do within the next few years.
The more I read the posts the more I like this blog. This blog is worth reading if you are one of those people striving for financial peace. Check it out!

MoreMotion Web Express

I downloaded to MoreMotion Web Express web site design software and I have to tell you so far I am really pleased with it. I downloaded it from download.com and it was totally free. Not the kind of free with a 30 day trial. It was totally free. I have never used Dreamweaver but some of the customer reviews said it was just as good. The only downfall is that it is not for a complete beginner. Since I do have some knowledge I can figure it out and have already designed a page that I am really please with. Up till now I have been using the online editor that is included in cpanel. It is good for just the very basic site but if you want to get into more designing it is very limited. So if you want a free web design software check out MoreMotion Web Express at download.com.

MagsDirect.com

I was just introduced to another website where you can purchase magazine subscriptions. And of course you can get your magazine for much cheaper than off the newstand. Why do people buy magazines off the newstand anyway? You pay so much more. I can understand the occassional newstand purchase. Anyway, if you do buy mags off the newstand maybe you should rethink and check out this website Magazines

Bleezer is not as cool as I thought

I am not sure if I am just having problems with it or if it is just not as good as I thought. I can't login to one of my Blogger accounts and it is very frustrating. I wanted to be able to do all my posting without having to go on line but it looks like I can't with this program. I will have to either see if I can get this one to work or find a new one. I like the idea of a bloger client.

Affiliate Marketing - New Company

Affiliate Marketing is one of the best money making ideas on the net. I will give you a basic description in case you are unfamiliar. As an affiliate marketer companies will pay you to bring customers to their website. You either get paid a flate rate or a percentage when a sale is made. Some webhost will pay you as much as $110 for getting someone to sign up on their host. Other companies will pay you any where from 3%-50% of a sale made. You are basicly getting paid for a Cost Per Action or Cost Per Lead. The great part about affiliate marketing is that every one is doing it. By that I mean that well know companies like Walmart and Home Depot have affiliate programs. Actually the best part about affiliate marketing is that it is totally free to join.
Most companies are now working through a third party company that manages their affiliate marketers. Commision Junction, Linkshare and Sharesale are a few better known ones. I just found out about a new company called CPA Network. Check them out!

Home Improvement

I live in a very nice house in a very nice neighborhood and I would almost feel ashamed to desire more. Since I am human wanting more is part of who we are so for a moment I am going to submit to my human nature and dream of more. I mention I live in a very nice house, well it is a very nice house if it were finished. We have so many unfinished projects around this house. Instead of just dreaming of having unfinished projects completed I am going to go even deeper in my dreaming. So here is my ultimate home improvement
dream...

My dream home would be at least 3000 square feet. The front of the house would be fully landscaped. A covered front porch would be the perfect spot from my white double seated rocking chair. The kitchen would have all granite countertops, hardwood floors and oak cabinets. The island in the middle would have a block wood cutting board with a overhanging pots and pans rack. All the appliances would be stainless steel. There would be top quality ceiling fans in each room and central heating and air throughout the entire house of course. All three of the kids would have their own decked out rooms. My son would probably want a comic book style theme, my oldest daughter might want a cowgirl theme and my baby daughter would love an animal theme. Would also have a school room, a game room and an office for me and an office for my husband. There is so much more to the house I would like to improve but lets move on to the horse barn.
My horse need luxury as well, don't they. My dream barn would include 4 padded stalls, completely covered with a tack room and hay shed. A misting system over the covered breeze way. Wash racks, covered area and round pen would also be a nice touch.

Dream is over, now lets get back reality. I still have a very nice house in a very nice neighborhood. One day I hope to add some wanted but not needed improvements.

Home Security

My family's security is very important to my husband and I and it was for this reason we decided to move away from the town we used to live in to the town we are in now. Our old house was situated in a not so decent part of town. And by that I mean it wasn't the worst in the area but it had some definite safety issues. We happened to be living across the street from some drug dealers and my kids were friends with some drug dealers kids (we didn't know it at the time). So as soon as the housing market improved we sold our house and moved to a small town in the mountains. My husband now has to drive an hour to get to work but it is completely worth it. The neighborhood we now live in is a completely opposite of the old "hood". I am still having a hard time adjusting to this neighborhood though. Most people don't lock there doors around here! I am of the thinking that bad people can still come to good neighborhoods so locking doors in a routine thing for us.
I hope we will never have to worry about safety issues in this neighborhoods but
I can tell you this, if we hadn't moved to this neighborhood we would have definitely looked into home security options.

Transfering blog

I am thinking about transfering this blog to a new host. Did I talk abou this already? This blog host is very limiting. I was to add categories and stuff like that. Maybe I can with this one, I am not sure. I also want to use a better theme with no Blogger.com thing at the top. Not sure when all this will happend. I also need to organize it a lot better. Since I deal with a wide range of reviews there is no way to find the type of review you might be looking for except searching the archives. Anyway, I will keep you posted.

Does this thing work?

Pixifun Photo Kits

Product Review:
Christmas is coming and I have found a great idea for gift giving. Get your kids involved and have them create their very own gift. I love stuff like this.Pixifun Photo Kits are really cool. You can make key rings, magnets and stickers using you own photos. I really think this would be great for a family to do together and give them away as christmas gifts. In fact I am seriously considering do this with my family this year. I am always looking for unique, inexpensive (on a budget you know) gift ideas, and I think I have found a good one. The only thing I might have to do is convice my kids not to use those really silly faced pictures. Why can't children just smile normal when you take a picture? Infact, I have a picture idea in mind. I better start now, Christmas is just around the corner.

All you have to do is use the software included with the kits to import and size your photo. Then just use the pre-cut photo inlays. Very reasonable price, just $4.99 per kit with Free Shipping. The website where I found these Pixifun Photo Kits also has some other cool stuff. They have a CD/DVD label making kit and a button making kit.

I think my favorite kit that they offer are the magnets.

Air Free P80

As a parent of a child with asthma having clean air is very important to me. My 10 year old son has been battling with asthma since he was 15 months old. Asthma is a terrible condition to have, especially for a young boy. To help reduce his attacks we have purchase a number of different products to improve his condition. Unfortunetly not much has helped. He goes though good days and bad days. He does have mild asthma most of the time but has been to the hospital a few times. It is one of the harded things you for a parent to see their child not being able to breathe. Asthma seems to be hereditary in our family. Both my brother and sister have a child with asthma. We think it might be passed down from our father.
We have found that air cleaners do help some but have never really had a good one. I am wonder if the claims made by the makers of the Airfree P80 are true. If these claims are true there may be hope. For the past week or so there has been a fire burning nearby which has caused the are to be filled with smoke. I really wish I had an affect air cleaner at this moment. Here are some more information on this particular air cleaner:

The world's safest and most tested air cleaner.

Inside Airfree’s patented ceramic core 99.99% of all micro-organisms: spores, fungus, bacteria, virus, mold spores, are incinerated at temperatures around 400F (250ºC). That is done without significant heat contribution to the ambient. No living microorganism survives this power.

Airfree reduces Ozone whereas ozone generators generate dangerous levels of such harmful gas that destroys lung tissue, triggers respiratory diseases, and corrodes metallic equipment.

Justbuyonline.com carries the Airfree P80. This site doesn't not deliver to the US though. But if you live in Europe then check out the great deals they offer.
I will have to do a search to find out where I can find one in the US. I will post about it soon.

Site Review:

Overall Feel:Very Clean site. Site has some nice effects.

I have never heard of this product and am very interested using it for my son's room.

Laminateflooringco.com

Laminate flooring is a superb choice because, quite simply, no other type of floor covering comes close to providing you with such a wide variety of options. Whatever look you want for your home, be it rustic stone, soothing ceramic or classic wood like beech, merbau, oak, maple, cherry or walnut, it can likely be had with laminate flooring, and all at lower cost than the real thing. But let it be said, there is nothing unreal about laminate, that's because quality, style and durability come as standard!
I took this quote from laminateflooringco.com and I have found these statements to be very true. There are so many different looks you can create with laminate flooring. You can't beat the price of laminate flooring either. LaminateFlooringCo.com is a great place to find out more information about laminate flooring. They provide you with tips and have a Help & Advice section. This site is a bookmark worthy website.

Not only can you find great information about installation but you can also find great info about the different brands of laminate flooring. Here are some links to some specific brands.

Simmons, Jannace & Stagg

I recently read a web release issued by Simmons, Jannace & Stagg. After September 11th a Victims Compensation Fund was created for those who lost loved ones in the attack. This fund was designed to compensate the families of the victims. Simmons, Jannace & Stagg was asked by a widow of a man who died in the attacks to represent her in the connection with a lawsuit filed in federal court by the attorney who represented her before the Victims Conpensation Fund. This attorney was trying to get a $2,000,000 (that's millions) contingency fee from this fund. The federal action was dismissed.
"Simmons, Jannace & Stagg pointed out that there was no reported case upholding such an exorbitant fee for representation before the Victims Compensation Fund. Finally, we argued that the federal court should abstain because the state Surrogate's Court had already begun an inquiry into the size of the attorney's fee. The federal court, after hearing argument, issued an order and agreed that the Victims Compensation Fund did not provide federal court jurisdiction. The court also agreed with Simmons, Jannace Stagg's argument that it should abstain from exercising its jurisdiction."

The attorney who sought the $2,000,000 is not the kind of attorney I would want to work with. This kind of act is what gives attorneys a bad name.

For more information on this case visit simmons, jannace & stagg.

MyBodyPart.com

This site is specifically designed for anyone interested in liposuction surgery and other plastic surgery procedures. You can find out all you need to know about plastic surgery. Be well informed and don't get talked into a procedure that is not right for you. This plastic surgery site seeks "to enlighten and empower the public with the appropriate knowledge concerning plastic surgery and plastic surgery procedures". Not all sites are the same. Some sites will offer too little information and others are only looking to earn money from ads. MyBodyPart.com believes that "patients armed with the right information are less likely to be victims of potential risks and complications that may arise in a plastic surgery procedure". There are number of procedures you get informed on; breast lift surgery, breast augmentation and other breast enhancement, liposuction surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, and body contouring.

To get to know more about each procedure, Mybodypart also provides galleries of pictures according to a specific plastic surgery procedure. Before and after photos of breast augmentation, eyelid surgery, facelift, liposuction, nose surgery, and tummy tuck are available in the Before and After page. On top of all these goodies, Mybodypart also provides a virtual plastic surgery makeover software that can be downloaded for free.

*Please note that this site has some graphic photos which include some nudity.*

Site Review:
Overall Feel: Clean website, not too cluttered. There is a photo of breasts on the homepage as well as other pages. It's a before and after photo of a breast augmentation.
Navigation: easy to navigate
Content: For those interested in plastic surgery this site seems to have some great info. There are a lot of photos of breasts on this site. Not a family site.

Tech Crunch

The issue of whether bloggers should be getting paid to post baffles me somewhat. I don't really understand what all the controversy is all about. It seems that the blogger elitists are choosing what is ethical blogging and what is not. All the while affiliate marketing on blogs have been going on for years now. Tell me exactly what the difference is between affiliate marketing and paid post advertising. Most of these elitists claim that "how will we know who is posting an ad and who is not?" Yet you will probably see that most of the bloggers complaining will have affiliate ads in their posts. Are they forewarning their readers that "this is a affiliate ad". Probably not.

I suppose everyone has a right to their own opinion but I think that bashing is not the way to go. By the way, the definition of the word bashing is "hostile comment directed at a particular individual or group". My comments are not hostile so don't start calling me a basher.

Flickr is cooler than I thought

I didn't know you could use Flickr to post entries into your own blog. That is so cool. Next blog will be on that I did this. It was so easy.

Flickr

I haven't used my Flickr account much since I signed up but now that I am blogging more I want to try and add some pics. Flickr is the most common photo host I have seen on blogs. Now that I have read the article on Flickr Photosharing Tips I feel much better informed. This article is directed to those that are in the hospitality industry but the information is still very useful. One bit of information I read in this article I found very interesting about Flickr.

Owned by Yahoo, it is the most popular of this category of sites. According to Alexa, it reaches approximately 10% of all Internet users and is the 42nd most popular website on the Internet.

Isn't that interesting? A photo host is the 42nd most popular website on the net? I had no idea.

Adding screen shots to reviews

I think I am going to start adding screen shots of my favorite websites that I review. I think it would be nice for readers to see the sites I am talking about. Giving people a better understanding of what I mean by "clean", not cluttered and so on.

Map Mashups

This site can be very useful for the hotel owners or hospitality industries in general. They have created an interactive "mashup" mag software that can be customized with your locations. This useful tool can be embedded directly onto your site. I have take a bit of information off the website that will better decribe the usefulness of this software.

Who should consider creating a mashup map to embed into their website?

  • CVBs: create an interactive map showing locations of member businesses, by category
  • Hotels: map local attractions to feature area for the convenience of (potential) guests
  • Vacation rental managers and Realtors: map properties across a geographic area, show off photos, provide descriptions and a place for people to comment on the property
  • Associations: create a membership location map that is easy to add, remove and update members

If this site is something that can be useful to you and you want to Make a Map Mashups, check it out.

USWeb

Is RipOffReport.com allowing fake complaints causing companies to unfairly hurting companies? I recently read a web release that suggests this. The Rip Off Report can be a helpful tool for consumers but are all consumers telling the truth or are there some unfair reports being made with in the company?. Ed Magedson is the owner of RipOffReport.com and it seems many companies are not happy with how this site has been performing. According to this web release good intentions of this website has lead to controversy and extortion.

If you or anyone you know has been unfairly criticized by a Rip Off Report, please contact us and we can help you. We know how much they have charged to extort companies to have the report removed and we can help you for less money and you don’t have to pay them to protect your name and brand.

Gas Prices Lowering- Yippy!

Since school started I have been driving around a lot. This many sound a little strange since I homeschool my kids. Homeschool clearly has "home" in the word. Why am I driving so much? Actually the charter school that my kids are homeschooled through offers some excellent classes for my kids. Some things are just best taught by other people. This is especially true for my daughter. We butt heads a lot.
On a positive note, gas prices have gone down about .50 a gallon in the last month with is quite a big savings. With the amount of drving I do I am at least not paying more in gas this month than I did last month....good thing because we are broke.

Flaming Tamale

The secret life of a PayPerPost Team member:
(you must read this post in your best Spanish cowboy accent)
Flaming Tamale, her name says it all. She is not your ordinary women. Oh yes, she brings home the bacon and fries it up in a pan but not the way most women do it. Wearing a red spandex jumpsuit, Flaming Tamale's slaves over a hot stove to create her specialty, Tamales with bacon. Oh, you have never heard of bacon Tamales? Well, that is probably because they are Flaming Tamale's specialty and she has yet to create an edible one. Please don't worry you will get your chance to try an edible bacon Tamale at the next PayPerPost team meeting. Those of you who are not team memebers - too bad for you!

Who is the Flylady?

I am talking about the Flylady again in hopes to get me motivated to visit her site again and get myself organized. My house is in a complete mess and I wish it was clean again. I would make my kids help more but it seems they are doing school all day and we don't get much chance for cleaning. I am hoping things will settle down again and I will be able to regain some order. I hope!

Who is the Flylady?
Several months ago I was introduce to the Flylady. She is a "life organizer". She will help you organize your home, and get even the worst cases showing results. I was very into the Flylady for about a month. I was really working at keeping my self organized. She encourages you to take baby steps and not to stress out. My house was getting really clean when I was committed. Then as time went by I got busier in other areas of my life that I dropped my Flylady. I still regret doing this because I was doing so well. If you sign up for it you can get daily emails for encouragment and focus. The emails did get to be much so I cancel my membership :o(. I really liked the things I was able to accomplish with the Flylady. I think I will visit her site again soon to start over. http://www.flylady.net

Are we becoming "Adsense -itised"? Do we really see adsense the way we used to or are these types of ads an annoyance? Speaking from a web site visitors point of view I personally feel that adsense if used properly can be useful but if it is over used can be damaging to the web site owner. Too many people are over using adsense and it is getting harder to find the true content of many websites these days.
Now speaking from an adsense users point of view, making a buck ( and I mean a buck literally) on adsense is also becoming more difficult. I have never had the kind of traffic some of the well-know bloggers or web sites have so making money using adsense is very difficult for a small fry like me. I think I have about $25 in my Adsense account that I will probably never actually get because they require you have a $100 balance before they pay :o(. PayPerPost on the other had has been completely different. My PayPerPost account is over $500 and I have already been paid $168. Reaching this amount of pay only took about a month and a half. So the difference between AdSense and PPP is that I actually make money with PayPerPost.
Will I remove all Adsense ads from my web sites and blogs? No, I might actually reach the $100 minimum in a few years ;o)and will be happy to get that unexpected check. Will AdSense soon die off and PPP type businesses emerge? I think that is where we are headed.

what's wrong with you?

I had a conversation with a friend to day and we were talking about how sometimes we get so overwhelmed with life stuff but don't really stop to realize how many dffernent things are happening all at once. When we get to almost a nervous break down and then think "what's wrong with me", we don't always stop to realize how many things we are actually dealing with. My friend was talking about last year and how she had just had a baby, was homeschooling, had to move in the middle of the school year and almost fell apart. She then realized that so many transitional things where happening in her life at once. One of those things could be overwhelming but all of them can send you over the edge.
I felt this way when my uncle passed away and my husband and kids and I had to got to take care belongings. This in it's self was hard to to but only a few months before my uncle passed my father also passed away. So many emotions where running through my mind and at times I almost did loose it. I have to say that the reason I didn't completely loose it and my friend would say the same is that we had our God to lean on. He was with me through every difficult time and the same was true for my friend.
So remember to seen your situation as it is before you think there is something "wrong" with you.

In Car Audio Systems

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! LOL! I am not one of those people that ever says that but I thought it would be an appropriate response to todays site review. First go visit thein car audio systems at Dixons web site. Now lets say it together...Sweeeeeeeeeet!
First of all there are many name brand products to choose from- Sony, Blaupunkt, Kenwood, BRAUD, Panasonic, Pioneer and more. My husband would love the products they offer on this site. But both my husband and I love gadgets and electronic products. I am pretty sure my husband would love to have the SONY CDXS2050 CD player. He has had to put up with a lot of cheap car cd players. I guess he deserves something better. Dixons has a wide range of in car products. You can find sterio setups as well as video. This site is UK based so everything is in pounds (is that how you write pounds?)

Overall site review:

Feel: inviting, clean, great design
Navigation:Many options but still easy to navigate
Content: the descriptions of product seem to be informative but I only check out a few things.

Bookmark worthy?

How do I determine if a site is bookmark worthy?

The information has to be good enough that I plan to return soon or over and over again. I guess that changes from day to day for me. It all depends on what I need. If I say a site is bookmark worthy that means it's really got some good info.

PersonalHomeLoanMortgages.com

The housing market is slowing down here in my area. At the selling peak houses where going like crazy. In my area houses are being built all over. We decided to move here right before the selling craze. We got a very nice deal on the building of our home. The land was also very cheap compared to what it is now. Because we sold our previous house at such a good time we had enough money to purchase the land outright. We did however take a loan out for the construction of our new home. At the time we didn't really know much about how to find the best deals on home loans so I am not sure that we made the right choices. Since we were building a home we could not netogiate closing costs so finding the lowest rate was our main consern. Construction loans generally have higher interest rates so after a few months we refinanced and got a great 5.67%. The only thing I think we would have done differently if we were to do it again would be to get a 15 year loan instead of a 30 year. Dave Ramsey has convinced me this should be the only option when getting a home loan. If you are looking for a great site to find out the best deals on personal home loan mortgages you should check out personalhomeloanmortgages.com. You can find great resources which include a directory of mortgage brokers. They also have blogs to help you make the right choice.

Site Review:
Overall feel: Nice layout except for the left side web design (I just personally think it looks off centered). The site is clean with not to much clutter.
Content: Very useful information. The site includes a mortgage calculator, local search, quick qualifier, knowledge base.

This is a review of The Link web site with specific attention on the Samsung mobile phones page.
The Link has 39 different Samsung mobile phones to choose from. If you are looking for a quality phone at a great price then you need to check out this web site. You have the option of searching for your phone by brand name, price range or category. Samsung is only one of the many name brands that The Link carries. They also carry other electronic devices like Apple iPods. If Samsung is not the brand of your choice try one of the other brands like Motorola or Nokia.

bulletproof glass

I have to tell you I don't much think about bulletproofing products much. I live in a very small safe town and haven't had to think of such things in a long time. In the neighborhood I used to live in I would have liked having bulletproof glass windows in my home. It wasn't the worst neighborhood but it was also far from the best. My grandmothers neighborhood on the other had is one of those "bulletproof glass" types of neighborhoods. I have been afraid of her neighborhood since I was a child. So why am I talking about bulletproof glass? I am reviewing a web site called pacificbulletproof.com. I can't say I know much about bulletproof glass but if I ever did want to know more, this site would be the place to go.

Site Review

Overall feel:Inviting, nice design. I like the changing photos, neat effect. The only thing I don't really care for is the logo at the top. I think it looks kind of amateur.

Navigation:
Very easy to navigate.

Content:
Very good product information. You can learn a lot about all the different types of bulletproof glass on this site.

Avatars

The internet has changed a lot since I first was introduced to it about 10 years ago. There are so many interesting things you can do on the internet these days. If you are looking for entertainment on the net there are plenty of things to choose from. You can chat with your friends on Myspace, watch movies, download music, download games and ringtones for your phone, listen to podcasts, listen to radio broadcasts, order diapers, develop your digital photos and a whole lot more. I can't wait for the day when the internet can wash my dishes and do my laundry. I guess it could if I hired a maid online.
Here's one interesting thing you can do online now, play dress up. Well sort of. You can dress up your very own avatar. Avatars are characters you can use while chatting on message boards, chat rooms, blogs, etc. You can make then look like you or nothing like you. At thedollplace.com you can play a dress up game. Choose from a list of types of avatars you want to create and then build your own. If choose the mermaid button on the dress up games page you could make a avatar like the one below.

words you will not find on most spell checker

I thought it was interesting that the spell checker on this blog and most other spell checkers on the net have not yet updated for todays net lingo. These are the words that will be considered misspelled:

blog
blogger
avatar
podcast

There are more but I can't remember them. I thought it was quit interesting that you can't find blog on a blog spell checker.

The dictionary/spell checker are always behind the times.

Hawaii

Many probably don't know this about me but I was born on the beautiful Island of Honolulu, Hawaii. My parents decided they wanted to live in Hawaii and did so for at least the first 3 years of my life. I of course don't remember much because of how young I was when we left but it is an interesting topic of conversation. My parents say they were not hippies but they sure looked like it to me in some of the pictures I have seen. My father loved to travel and as a child I visited many places. I experience many cultures. Not tourist cultures but real live native people. One thing I can really appreciate about my childhood is how my father taught us to be aware of other cultures and people. Each people and culture has something that you can appreciate. It is my hope that one day my children can experience life the way I did.
A great place to start teaching my children about appreciating other cultures would be a vacation to an place like Hawaii. Though most the culture they would see is geared to please tourists I do believe it can spark an interest for them to experience other cultures when they are grown.
Estelle.tv has yet another great place to check out on their video archives. Latin Supermodel Estelle Reyna is the host of these great videos. You can also learn a bit of history about the places that interest you and listen to their daily podcasts.
View the beauty of Waimea Canyon. Like most of Hawaii,Waimea Canyon
is absolutely breathe-taking. As I have mentioned before Estelle.tv is a great place to find search your next vacation spot. Estelle.tv is definitely a bookmark worthy web site. Visit this site and see all that you can find out about your next vacation. This could also be a useful site for your child's next school research project. Hey! That's an idea, I think I will have to remember that.

Estelle goes for a stroll then a swim on a Kauai beach.

Blogging

I am now trying to become a better blogger and I am not just saying this because I read that payperpost will soon be rating bloggers. Ok, maybe that has something to do with it but even before they mentioned this I was feeling like my blogs needed more. Since I am fairly new to the whole blogging world I it wasn't that easy to do when I first started. I didn't really know what to write about and wasn't sure if I just sounded like an idiot. Well now I know I sound like an idiot most of the time but it doesn't bother me anymore. I did recently start my horse blog which I am really having a lot of fun with. I guess I should find a few topics that interest me and blog around hear and there instead of posting only on one or two blogs. This seems to be what the top posters and featured posters are doing on payperpost.
i also have to practice using no caps... or maybe not. May be I can be one of the few bloggers out there that uses caps. I don't know I am still debating that one.

Bodybuilding Forum

If you are into fitness and better health you need to check out this forum. There are several different discussion forums here. Topics include Training, Nutrition, Supplement, Fatloss , Powerlifting, Anabolic, Woman's Forum and Bodybuilding. There are some great discussions going on this forum. New blogs

I haven't started any new one's just yet. I am trying to see how I can upload my exsiting blogs to my new wordpress blogs. These are some topics I want to start:

Homeschool Blog

Can mom survive a teenager and a preschooler?

My Gathering Place ( a place to gather my thoughts)

A Walk Not Finished. ( my life with christ)

Well, I probably should go over board with too many differnt blogs because then I may not be able to keep up with them. We will see!

School Daze

When school starts around my home it's not a relief because they are now "off to school". We homeschool so when summer is over things get quit busy. This is the problem I am having right now. I am really busy getting ready for school and have little time for anything else. We chose to homeschool and it is something I enjoy doing. But sometimes it can be hectic. Like today!

Google Ads

Is the web using world becoming over google-fied? I am begining to think that google ads are not as affective as they used to be. I don't think there are many web sites on the net that don't have a google adsense placed some where. I used to be more against google ads until I started to make some money with them.
Though, I am not a fan of web sites that place google ads that are intended to trick the visitor into believing it is their own content. Some sites have only a few of their own words and all the rest are google ads. What ever happend to web sites that actually have useful information? I end up on a google adsense nightmare surf sometimes. Going from one google ad to another to another. Yipes! What is the web coming too?

Travel Videos

"Are you gonna do something or just stand there and bleed?" After Whyatt Earp repeatedly slaps a bully of a man to submission. A quote from my husband's favorite movie, "Tombstone". I think my husband can just about quote the whole movie. I am not a big fan of violence movies but I must say that I really enjoy parts of this movie. Van Kilmer's part as Doc Holliday was the best casting decision made ever. My husband and I also thought that Kurt Russell did an excellent job as Wyatt Earp. Tombstone is loosely based on the events that took place in Tombstone, Arizona at the O.K. Corral.
Tombstone was known as one of the deadliest towns in the West during the latter half of the 19th century. It was the site of the OK Corral Gunfight. Tombstone contains the legendary Boot Hill Graveyard.

This quote is from the Estelle.tv website. At Estelle.tv you can view a glimpse of what you might see at the historic Tombstone Arizona. If you are thinking of vacationing you might want to check out this site. You can join Estelle as she discovers the sights, sounds and tastes of the various places she visits. Before planning your next trip you can learn more about the best travel destinations in the world. Estelle.tv also offers daily free podcasts. Search the large video content library offered by this site and get a better understanding of places you are going to visit or perhaps it will help find a place to vacation.

Not only would my husband love to visit the actual town where the events of the great shootout at the O.K. corral but he would probably leave with a greater understand of the events that took place. I can just see it...my husband leaving the O.K. corral with his newly purchased fake spurs, a tacky cowboy hat from the local gift shop. Tipping his hat to the ladies and spitting his chew. Then I would hear his favorite line from the movie.
"You ain't no daisy, you ain't no daisy at all."

I hope to visit this town one day but I am not sure I want to go through the embarrassment.

Word Press

Did I already review Word Press? Well, I am doing it again if I already did. I know I am blogging here on blogger.com but recently I download Word Press to my web host and I have to say I really, really like it. I love all the different templates I am finding. I also really like the admin area. I think the best part are the great templates you can find for free. Though blogger is a great blog host I think Word Press has a better setup.

I have uploaded Word Press to my web host so it is not the same as WordPress.com. If you go to WordPress.org you will be able to download the software.

Affiliate Marketing

I got into affiliate marketing about six months ago and have thought it to be a great avenue for making an income, if done right. There is great potential to make a good income with affiliate marketing. However, getting people to click on your link to shop can be the tricky part. I will discuss affiliate marketing from this point of view at a different time.
As a merchant using affiliate marketing is a excellent way for you to advertise. Not only are you getting free ad placement on well know sites as well as the small fries you can also get customers. All the while the web master is doing the advertising for you.
There are many tools out there for affiliate management
. The Affiliate Management Service by Apogee Search would be a great place to start. Check out the site affiliate management

6 reasons why you should not build a web site from a free host

Ok, I am not a fan of free web hosts. Many people out there get their start web building with a free host, like from bravenet, lycos, etc. But I am here to say, "don't do it". I will try to give you good reason. This statement does depend a bit on what the site is for but my general rule is, stay away from them.
Here are the 10 reasons why:

1. Ungly pops-ups, top of the page ads, and other ads are distracting and don't look professional. If your site is not for the purpose of anyone else to see buy yourself then I guess this reason wouldn't really matter.
2. These sites are usually very limited. You can't edit very much, and the amount of memory they give you is very little.
3. The long domains : http://www.freesite.thissite.thatsite.com/mysite is not very practical. Yes, you can buy your own domain to fix this.
4. You can only usually only get one email address with free accounts. This may not be problem for some but it is something to be aware of.
5. Not many extras, like ad free bulletin boards, blog software, etc. Free sites usually don't offer many extras and if they do they have ads all over them.
6. I am going to mention this one again: Ungly ads! They don't look good.

My web host is Hostgator.com and I can get a tone of tools, memory and bandwith for only $9.95 a month. Some may not want to jump from free to $9.95 a month but it will probably be the only jump you will need to make for a long, long time.
Visit my review on this web host to find out more info:

Digital Cameras

The invention of the digital camera was ment for people like me. What kind of person am I? I am one of those people who has a million rolls of fill still not developed. Ok, a million is an exageration but it still is pretty bad. I love taking pictures and looking at them. For some reason though I can't get the roll of film to the store to be developed. When I first bought a digital I was so excited because I could see my pictures instantly and then download them easily to my comptuer. I have made several invitations and thank you cards using the pictures I have uploaded. I can also go to Walgreens.com and have them developed within 1 hour. I think it is safe to say, that I am IN LOVE with my digital camera. My brother recommended that I buy a Cannon. He has been through a few cameras and he felt that the Cannon has the best. I really like my Cannon.

Child care

I was hired to do childcare for a local church bible this morning and it was quite interesting. I didn't really know what to expect but since I have done child care many times before I wasn't too stress about it. There where about 15 kids and ages from 2-5 years. I wasn't instructed to do any activities with them so I had no plan. But I couldn't just let them play with toys for 2 hours. I did bring a book and got some ideas from it. We sang songs, played games, watched a veggie tale movie. It was a lot of fun. I would love to say I would have done it for free but the truth is I wouldn't. I got paid about $20 an hour for that job. I can really use that money right now.

WoodenCrates.org

Are you aware that WoodenCRATES.org is the first/only community for the crating industry? Why would this be important for someone to know? For the companies that send large shipments this is important. Wood shipping crates have been losing ground to plastics. Most think that plastics will last longer than wood. According to WoodenCrates.org plastic applications have now been proven not to last as long as wood. Interesting isn't it. It's seems the push for plastic has been advertised on television as a important part of human life. I do think this is true for many things but is it giving comsumers the impression that plastic is always better. It's tougher, lasts longer, and is cleaner. What will happen to our world if we do not cut down on non-bio degradable products?

My site review:
Overall feel:
Very inviting web site and navigation is easy.

Content: Seems to have useful information for people in this industry. At least on page I clicked on is not yet complete.

Did I learn something new?
Yes, I did not know wood crates would last longer than plastic. I found that very interesting.

Coccyx Pain

There was once a man named Ron who loved to ride his Bull, Rocket
One day when they were bucking and broncing Ron fell and broke his Coccyx

Ron screamed and hollered for the pain was real bad
Rocket looked at his master with a face that was sad

The ambulance took Ron to the hospital
there he met the trusted Doc Riddle

Doc Riddle explained to Ron the result of his fall
the Ex-rays showed the he had broken 6 bones in all

Ron broke his two fingers and two toes
he also broke his tail bone and even his nose

Ron did not know if his life would ever be the same
sitting is not easy when you have coccyx pain

As Ron gave Doc Riddle a pathetic looking stare
He mentioned the hope of a Coccyx Posture Chair

Ron knew that his broncing days would have to wait a few months at best
for his fingers, toes, coccyx and nose would need a bit of rest.

never to late to find true love

haven't been in the date scene for a long time now and i really don't envy those who are still there. i have been married to my husband for 15 yrs this month. my husband is a great man and father and i am glad i met him 16 yrs ago. we married almost one year to the date after we had our first date. i can remember our first date very clearly. he brought me a flower, opened the door for me and was very gentleman-like. we went to a mexican restraunt and that was good thing because at the time i was a vegitarian and if he had taken me to the steak house he meant to take me to he may have gotten a little embarrased. though i found my true love and soul mate early in life it is never too late to find true love. www.moreProfiles.com

Woman's Size 11 Feet

I think it may be a curse that I have feet so large. If my feet kept me from falling or being clumsy I might feel differently. Not only is it hard for me to find now shoes my size it is just hard for me to find shoes, period. Is my clumsiness due to my foot size? Not sure but that is the excuse I am using for now. So what to do?
Now that I am on the subject of shoes I recently was introduced to a shoe blogging web site. You can view a number of shoes and a description of them. This blog has some real great info so check it out. >>>>Shoe Blog
